I have a model 65 with the peep sight on the bolt but missing the aperture sight cup..I cant tell by looking at it what thread it uses- I want to make one..Dont want to risk trying a tap in the fine threaded hole..Could somebody who has one of these tell me what thread is in it?

Bet you that even the springs are still good.That wood was just scorched, not burned away.. Wood starts burning at 662 F.. I have been copying old vcr tapes to DVD and see the puppies we had a dozen years ago who have since grown old, infirm and then passed away..Tough to lose a precious member of the family..Would rather have one smashed in the road in front of the house than turn up missing and dont know what happened...

A good menudo is delicious. Cow tripe, white hominy, onion and spices. Or, there's white (broth) menudo, too. I don't care for stewed chitlins, but WILL eat my share of fried ones. This is a Maynard replica. Civil War era .50 caliber breech loading percussion cap fired cartridge carbine .I bought the rifled barrel blank and nipple and rear 3 leaf sight and then made everything else myself..Fun to shoot..I like to imagine I could shoot a deer with it but I have no where to hunt...
