Looks like a Remington model 12, probably a 22 rifle. They were produced from 1909 to 1936.

Re: Old Winchester's - what to look for when buying?
Recently, I ran into a problem with a 1951 Winchester 94. The action popped open too easily. I posted the problem on this board and asked how common it is. The consensus of the responses was that it happens but is not that that common. Yesterday I had the chance to visit a couple of pawn shops that ...

Mudpuppy Welcome to the forum. Collectively there is more knowledge about leverguns on this web site than anywhere else I have found on the net. I found this site in ~2007 when I was, like you are now, looking for information about my 1886 in 40-82 caliber. I didn't start out with any ammo, but I fo...

Re: Going on my first fly fishing trip tomorrow
I have been fly fishing since 1974. I was hooked (so to speak) after the first trip. Since then I have caught all kinds of fish on flies. I've caught trout, salmon and steelhead on flies. Some of the other species caught were blue gills, crappie, bass, carp, whitefish, chubs, catfish and suckers. I ...

I'd glue it with Elmers woodworking glue and I have used 10 minute epoxy that I got at the hardware store. I like having a few more minutes to work with the piece before it sets up.cpy911 wrote:

I anneal my 40-82 brass after about 10-15 reloads. It is resized 45-90 starline brass. I didn't have to anneal before resizing. The method I use is to stand the brass up in a pot of water. Only the top .75" is exposed above the water. I heat the exposed brass to a dull red and tip it over into ...

Nice old rifle! I understand your hesitation in taking this on, but from what I can see, anything you do is not visible from the exterior of the stock. How tightly does the chip fit to the stock? If it is tight, it is a simple thing to glue it with woodworkers glue. Does the bottom of the split in t...

Nath,
I read and reread your post while I pondered the problem. I finally did what you described. I pulled the bolt pin and sure enough, it locked up tight.
My question is, when you relieved the pin, did you enlarge the hole in the lever evenly from all sides, or did you take it out from one side?

If the scope/sights are lined up 4" above the top of the frame, you should be in good shape. Where guys err is thinking that just because they can see the target the bullet will clear. A bit of tape 4" up on the rods is a good reminder of where you are relative to the frame. Oh and if you ...

$510? Is the rifle otherwise in good working order? You can make brass from the .220 Swift. Man.... Yeah, I know... They had the gun zip tied, so I couldn't work the action or look at the bore, so the functionality isn't known. I'd be interested, but I'm working toward something else right noe.

The 88 is a fine gun, and here are some things I have read about them.
