Re: Sling Options?
I'm sorry, I guess your original post goes beyond the actual sling. The Montana sling comes with Uncle Mike sling swivels that attach to standard sling studs. It's just made in such a way that it doesn't use any buckles or other hardware for adjustment or to attach to the swivels. All that being sai...

Eiteljorg Museum PISTOL Display, Indianapolis
For those of you who live close to Indianapolis or may be passing through, from Feb 6 to April 18, 2010 there will be an interesting display of sixguns at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. The museum itself is well worth seeing and the display looks to be very cool! http://ww...

I just put a Montana sling on my 1894 Marlin. I think it is very slick and unique looking. It has no hardware beyond the sling swivels themselves. It is well worth the $32 dollars I paid.

I think you did all right on the trade especially with the heads thrown in. My first question is how long is the barrel. A straight grip Mountie model will have a 20" barrel and the standard pistol grip 39a (or Golden 39a) will have a 24" barrel. Was someone trying to convert this rifle to...

Welcome to the forum! as others have pointed out, 30-30 will be the most logical choice if you don't want to reload. The last time I bought over the counter ammo was for the 30-30, it was cheaper than 223 at that time and they had plenty of 30-30. The 223, not so much. Besides,it will be easier to f...

I just got a Skinner sight for my Marlin 1894 in 44 mag. I really like it's steamlined nature and it didn't require adding holes to my new Marlin. I have a Williams FP on my Marlin 1895, it has a wider range of adjustment than the Skinner, but that only matters if you're shooting a wide range of amm...

Sarge, Besides the trigger block safety actuated by the lever that was original to the design, it has the cross bolt safety and the Taurus hammer lock safety. That's about two to many for me. The best reasons for buying a micro-grooved Marlin is someone selling it cheap because it has a micro-grooved barrel, and most of the micro-grooved leverguns don't have the silly cross-bolt safety

The lever is obviously a Marlin clone. Around here Marlin 336 variations are relatively inexpensive, and probably in less demand when compared to Marlins other leverguns. I don't get why they would go head to head with Marlin with that model. They surely have the engineering and manufacturing capabi...

I don't know if it entirely related to the magazine but my Nylon 66 is the slickest semi auto .22 I've ever shot. It seems to be a more intuitive design in that the rounds don't have to change direction when being fed into the action.
