I bought South African PMP .243 ammo last year for $9.99 per box. It shoots quite accurately. In contrast, fresh Remington .243 ammo is more than double this price! YIKES!

I can see the reloading road fast approching in my head lights.

I’m just trying to figure out what it was that got under my crawl and
made me all of a sudden decide I needed to buy these.

I’m not even going to say how many boxes of Win. Foster type slugs
I have in the gun safe. Which BTW have been more than adequate for years.

I just bought 350 rounds of 2-1/2" low-pressure 16ga shells.

$172 + shipping. But now I'll have proper hulls to reload...

I paid about $80+shipping once for ammo, but it was a butt load of 7.62x54R surplus. Still have alot left too; maybe I need another gun to help with my accumulating ammo problem....hmmm. 8)

Hey OI, you got a fancy little tube gun for all that 16ga ammo?

Yeah. a 100y/o (ish) German Drilling in 16x16 over 9.3x72R (roughly .38-55 class)

Thing is, it requires 2-1/2" or shorter shells, so they have to be special ordered.

I don't want to say what I just paid for 50 rounds of Brenneke Black Magic slug loads. Of course, these will likely last a lifetime!

A friend of mine just sold his 338 Lapua. $5 plus per round every time you pull the trigger.

And remember, the EcoLibSocs want to make wheel weights (cheap, castable lead) illegal.

Gee... I wonder why?

mind telling where? The local stores charge $20 to as much as you want to spend for 16ga.

thanks!

If you are a 16ga fan, I suggest you join me/us at 16ga.com &/or join the 16ga society. http://www.16ga.com

Here's a link to a few good dealers. http://16ga.com/cartridges.html

86er Joe suggested RST: http://www.rstshells.com/Shells-best.htm

Several of the 16ers like B&P: http://www.baschieri-pellagri.com/uk/main.html

I already bought from Polywad (before Joe suggested RST): http://www.polywad-shotgun-shells.com/

Polywad is 100% US made and are good folks to talk to on the phone - and were totally wiling to discuss "n00b w/old gun" issues.

Thanks! Great info. I'll have to get my Model 12 fixed (screwed up the ejector shooting express loads!).

I'm thinking I have to look into reloading these shotgun shells - the prices are getting rediculous.

There is a special group over there you can join that is specifically dedicated to short, low pressure loads for old guns.

Take a look around.

Do you think we can be bailed out if we can't afford the ammo for our guns. I have been shopping for a while and i'm now looking into casting my own. I wonder what it would take to make brass shells?
