We had/have the same problems in the UK. Fellow shooters that only care about their own particular type of sport.

I have never had any use whatsoever for any gun owner that only defends his or her aspect of shooting or the firearms they personally own while attacking others. Most often you see this in folks attacking the "evil black rifle" crowd. Talk about your "useful idiots". Such morons should be deprived of their firearms - they are neither intelligent enough nor courageous enough to own them!

We need to hang together or the anti-firearms groups will hang us individually & one @ time, until there is no one left....
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

Bingo!

The anti's understand math. They know a majority of the households in this country own a firearm. Trying to take on the Second Amendment head on hasn't worked except in small ultra-leftist urban areas. Nationwide, right now, it doesn't stand a chance.

They also know that the NRA is the most effective lobby in the country, and that the other gun-rights groups only add to this collective power.

So, their strategy for the last 40 years has been to nibble away at the right bit by bit. Use every national tragedy involving guns to further their agenda. Hype incorrect statistics. Attack selected firearms or groups of firearms. Pass waiting periods, one-gun-per-month laws, anti-CCW laws, close ranges and attack gun shows. The latter is to stop the passing of this part of our heritage to future generations. They also attack ammunition and do everything they can to make it so costly to own and operate a firearm that many will simply give them up willingly. They are looking to diminish our numbers and power to the day when they can simply "ban them all" as Senator Feinstein admitted.

This is the "boiling a frog" strategy. Throw a live frog into a pot of boiling water and it will jump right out. Put one in a pot of temperate water and slowly turn up the heat, allowing the frog to get use to the "increasing pain" and it will boil alive. We, as gun owners, tolerate way too much insult to our rights - all of them - but especially our gun rights. Our Founding Fathers would be ashamed.

"We must all hang together, or suredly, we will all hang separately." Benjamin Franklin reported said this around the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Truer now than ever.

I don't mean to start anything, I'll simply say a gun owner does not a Patriot make, offer a link, and scurry away. :D On a side note, how come no one's touted this? Maybe I missed it.

(and I'll say this) Now when the NRA passes over an A+ rated candidate to endorse a C+ candidate, is that hanging together? ...scurry, scurry... :D

"National Rifle Association: Politics over Principle http://thirdpartywatch.com/2008/10/09/n ... principle/
According to the Associated Press, the National Rifle Association just endorsed John McCain. As the Bob Barr campaign noted, John McCain has an abysmal record with respect to Second Amendment rights while Barr’s record is impeccable.

The NRA rates Barr, one of their own board members, with an A+ rating. McCain has earned a C+ rating by the same organization."
