OT Tony Hillerman died today.

I heard that Tony Hillerman died today. He wrote alot of great books about the Navaho people and the Four Corners area. We have some close friends from there and they all said that for a white man he did pretty good with his writing about their people.

I spent a lot of time flying on biz the last 10 years and the adventures of Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn helped me survive some of the
long flights.

If you guys haven't read Hillerman's novels, you might want to try one. There must be 10- or more out there.

I'm sad to hear this. I love all of the Hillerman books I've read. He obviously loved and respected the Indians of the Southwest and it showed in his writing. God bless him. - DixieBoy

Yes, good author! I have enjoyed all his books over the years and have always looked forward to his new ones. He will be missed!

My wife did a search on him after I told her about it. She likes to read all those murder mystery books. The bio she found about him from the L.A. Times had a 10 minute movie with it too.

Hillerman was a motarman in WWII where he received a bronze star, a silver star, and a purple heart.
