You can use them safely, but the cases will be ruined and must not be reloaded. A steady diet is not recommended because it fouls the chamber.
You can also shoot 410 safely, but I forget which one loads and extracts properly.
I've not shot .44 in the .444, but I have shot the 410s, they have an interesting pattern, it appears that the rifling might spin the shot charge.

Yes you can, just not recommended as you will generally wear out the rifle thoat quicker.

Coool....Thanks for posting.! I'll admit, I tried the .410 shell in my 444 but it wouldn't chamber properly. I'll have to give this a try.

Re: .444 marlin
I personally haven't tried the .410s in my .444 but those that do say to use paper-hulled shells instead of plastic-hulled shells. Seems they seat against the lands/grooves better.
Haven't tried .44 Special/Magnum in my .444 either. Don't want to foul the chamber much like firing .38 S&W Specials in a .357 Magnum revolver, etc..

Re: .444 marlin
Head size of the .44 mag/Spl is smaller dia. than the .444.
Haven't tried .410s in a .444, but they work great in a .45-70
