Number Two Stepson got his new Marlin Scout rilfe for Christmas!
I bought this last summer at a show cheap. Refinished the stocks and made it up like my 1895M.
First 35 Remington in the family. Really pleased with the accuracy os this rifle/ cartridge.
I got this nifty CZ 82 in 9mm Makarov.
Pretty nice shape though that polygonal rifling threw me. It looks almost smooth. Didn't know the Czechs were doing that.
I have a real weakness for military sidearms!! The DA/ SA trigger is really smooth!
Range report tomorrow.

It may be foriegn, but its not junk. I've got one and its a great shooting little pistol. Holds 12 rounds too. Mine came with the natural leather holster. I'm a nut for the military handguns too... especially when their priced right

That is one LUCKY young man and he looks pretty happy!!!
Cool to get a nice firearm and double cool that you put some of your stamp on this rifle refinishing the wood etc... Hopefully he'll keep it forever.
I want a .35 Rem. some day myself. Always looking for a late 1940's to early 50's Marlin 336 in .35 to go with my 1948 vintage .30-30. Neat cartridge that you can load down using .357 handgun bullets or load up for the big stuff.
You guys have fun!
Geoff

Make sure he doesn't shoot his eye out! (I see Ralphie in the background )2ndovc wrote:
You're gonna dig that 82. I've got one in 9Mak, Dad has one in .380 and I'm on the prowl for one in .32ACP. Between the two of us we'll have one in each caliber produced AFAIK. I had a Bulgie Mak, loved the round but hated the way it recoiled in my hand. The different grip angle of the 82/83 series makes it recoil like a pussycat though.

At least it's European! The only way Blondie could buy me a Winchester is if she took my money out to do it.
It's the thought that counts! Plus I've never had a CZ let me down!

Re: Santa Came Packin' this year.
Made it to the range this morning w/ the new shooters. Great
day for it. It was 60 degrees this morning!
I we have a new Levergunner!
Did pretty darn good for his first time out shooting his new .35 Rem. Off my range bag
he was able to keep all his shots in a 6" Shoot N' See target at 50 yds. Most were in nice little groups.
My first batch of handloads turned out a nice sub-one inch group. 36 Grains of Varget and 200 Gr Rem JRN.
He went through two boxes of shells and asked if I had any more! He's already bugging me about when we're
going shooting again and if I can make light target loads for practice.
I can't be more pleased with this Marlin. What a great shooter. Gonna have to find another one myself.
The CZ 82 is a keeper too. Darned accurate little pistol and 100 rounds without any problems.
I had half a box of some Russian hollow points that functioned just fine. Going to order some Of the Hornady XTPs. Ought to make a dandy little trail gun.
