OT 1903A4 update

Post by Rusty »

For those interested I sent off an e-mail to Navy Arms about the 1903A4 they will be bringing to the market. It will be an original receiver with a Pedersoli barrel and a Chinese scope that will be a reproduction of the original.

Yes about 90 days, the product will be at the distributors
of Glen Zanders Sporting Goods, Centerfire Systems, and
AIM. You local dealer will need to place an order with
one of these distributors.

I'm not sure who AIM is, but we'll find out.

AIM Surplus is in Southern OH. Nice people to deal with.

I, for one am really looking forward to these. I hope Navy Arms does it right.

The scope will be the only thing I have concerns about. after all if worse comes to worse you can always fit another barrel.

Sorry, no idea. I'll bet they're going to be proud of it though.

Doesn't seem right for a US service rifle does it but I'd worry more about the scope then the barrel.Still don't think the chinese stuff is up to grade.

I remember back in the early 60's the mark of something that was cheap and guaranteed to fall apart before you were done with it was the made in Japan sticker on the bottom. It became clear after a time that makers in Japan were building to a price point. I'm sure that if a wholesaler here in this country contacted a manufacturer in China and said they wanted such and such a product and the price was the last concern they cold attain any level of quality they wanted.

If you're into music go track down a "Bluegrass180" Guitar and you'll find it's an exact copy of a Martin.

It sounds awfully ambitious to me... there are still a lot of really nice 03A3's on the market. For less than $900

I guess I should get a GI receiver and re-work the commercial Santa Fe I bought a few years ago........every thing else is late 03A3 on that rifle
always press the "red" button--- it's worth the effort and the results can be fun

Are Navy arms and Gibbs rifle company the same? Gibbs has an ad up for this and the price is 995.00 I believe. Rusty I have no doublts about the chinese ability to copy things as I ve seen it first hand.I think they make the malcolm scopes for leatherwood possibly and there has been good and bad press about those. Not saying I still don't want one. Just that it may be more of a problem area then the barrel down the road-the Italians have a good reputation with barrels and were making thier own for the lend lease M1's after WW2.Any way just my .02
