WOW! Thanks for sharing that. :) Just goes to show - where there's a will, there's a way. Outlaw firearms, eh? He built that puppy from SCRATCH. Just pics and outside dimensions to go by it sounds like.

I think the cartridge is a neat thing, too. Quite a lot of ingenuity there.

The problem is, there will be no more primers or powder. The only option we will have available is flintlock and homemade BP. I think we need a different design....

It looks like a .22 Short might work okay. That is one really good looking project.

If you can cut down and then swedge and then turn down a case it's not that far from turning it out from a raw piece of brass. And if you can do that, you can also produce the items necessary for priming it. The technology is available to produce it all at home. You don't toss your used primers do you? There's all you need but the compound to produce more primers if you'll just file a nail down to use as a punch to flatten the dents out again. Especially if you use "Holy Black" as the propellant. Modern propellants are more complicated to produce, but just turn out a BP based firearm and use it like a liberator pistol, as a means of obtaining a more modern weapon. Police patrols down here are REQUIRED to have a minimum number of men for that reason. One or two guys with automatic weapons on a motorcycle are sitting ducks for anyone who wants their firepower. I think it's something like a minimum of six or eight guys for rural patrols. :)

Hmmm...I seem to remember a thread and a link about making your own primers. Something about scraping match heads to use in them? But how do you get the little brass piece out (is it called an 'anvil'?), reform and reuse?

It may come tot hat for sure. Guees I should go retrive the 500 or so I have in the trash now. :D

I've always wanted a Volcanic pistol shooting something a bit more modern. Maybe not that custom - I agree one of these firing a .22 LR would be the cat's meow for fun! :D
