tang sight screws

Post by hondo1892 »

Does any one know where I can get srews to attach a tang sight to my 1894. I bought an old vintage Lyman tang sight and there were no screws with it. So I need to find some.

You might try Wisner's. Winchester Bob is out of them. :)

For temporary use, or if all else fails, and you don't mind shaping your own screw-head, I got Allen-headed screws at ACE which made great tang screws; plenty of meat on the top of them to shape and groove.

Do you know how hard the heads of an allen screw are? Their the toughest metal screws are made from! You'll tear up a lot of cutting tools trying to reshape allen heads! Believe me I know from experience, and worn out lathe tools!

That's the best bet. Call Lyman and ask for a set of screws for their Lyman #2 Tang Sight for a Winchester Model 94.
