Thats OK, this is America. A buddy of mine started taking guitar lessons when he was 45 and has stayed with it for the last 8 years or so.

When you get real good with that fiddle, you can bet your soul against the devil's solid gold fiddle for all time champ. Let us know how it turns out! :D --------------------Sixgun

It is a Johannes Kohr K500 Violin made in 1998.
From what I understand a Fiddle is a Violin.

You'll kill the cat for a while, but get better in a short time. You quickly learn that a fraction of an inch on a Guitar does not equal a fraction of an inch on a fiddle.    Good for you Casastahle!

I would like to learn to sing. Finally. After making church congregations cringe for 50 years. After making grown music teachers cry and tell me to lip synch. I understand. I just hope you didn't spend so much you can't get another gun... or maybe primers...

Hey Cast, I'm just starting the same thing.....

It could be described as a destructive device........................depending on how well it is or isn't played.
Much better than learning the bagpipes though.

Not to worry, I haven’t gone off the deep end that far. :D
Just a Craigslist deal I couldn’t pass on.
Now if by chance this really takes off, a Stradivarius could
possibly cut into a lever purchase or two.

I think one of the coolest instruments around is the ELECTRIC violin.

#1: when you practice, you wear headphones... and nobody hears the cat scream but you.

#2: when you've figured it out you can play the regular violin

#3: but you won't want to because the electric violin with a loop-back kit is just too cool. You can play Pachabel's Canon with yourself.

That is cool!
Give it at least 6 months before even thinking of giving up.
It will take time in the beginging, but once you start to catch on
you can really be playing some good music pretty fast

Happy playing!
