I've got 3 44mag levers and none are a B-92. But most any published load will be well received by the 92. You just got to find the bullet and the charge that works best.

2400 and H110 are the goto powders and any 240gr or 300gr (.430) are the goto bullets.

Meanc,
My "go-to" load for any 44 magnum, rifle or handgun, is:

W-W cases
W-W LP mag primers
24.0 gr. 296 ball powder
Hornady XTP-HP 240 gr

I've used this load for 15 years in a variety of 44's, I have never found anything that would group better in any of them!

24 grains of 296 or H110 with a 240 gr. jacketed bullet is the classic 44 mag load.

I can't seem to get away from a 240gr SWC over 10.0gr Unique. Gives me 1050fps from a short sixgun and 1400fps from a rifle. Runnin' full speed is not usually necessary. When I do, I like a 240gr GDHP over 20-22.0gr 2400.

Craig said; "I can't seem to get away from a 240gr SWC over 10.0gr Unique. Gives me 1050fps from a short sixgun and 1400fps from a rifle."

I would add that the 10.0 of Unique also gives about 1200 fps in the classic single action (or other) 7 1/2" revolver barrel. This is the bullet weight and velocity Keith was looking for when Remington/S&W developed the .44 Mag. It is also the cast boolit weight and velocity I find many successful hunters report using for a great variety of game. If Craig's load works in his "short sixgun" as well as it does for me, it can be only better in the 7 1/2" revolver or in a lever action.
Though I have for years owned shorter barreled (4 1/2, 4 5/8 and 5 1/2") .44's, I now have 2 with 7 1/2" barrels. This "Unique" load is what I might use for deer this year; but this time in a 7 1/2". I just can't be sure if I want to use the Super Blackhawk or the Bisley; or if I want to take advantage of Indiana's new law allowing lever actions this season.
