OT - a Graduate and an Eagle

Post by O.S.O.K. »

Had a very good weekend, albeit very hectic. My #2 child, Logan graduated from High School and my #3, Eli received his Eagle Scout credentials at an Eagle Court of Honor. Both sets of Grandparents and their older sister and her beau came in for the events which made it all that more special. Here they are:

I must admit that I'm a proud pop. :)

Congratulations OSOK! A fine looking brace of boys you have there, and a reason to be truly proud.

Congratulations. Apparently you have done a fine job. My daughter will graduate this coming Sunday, 06/07/2009, and is the only deaf student in her high school.

Thanks guys. I give most of the credit to their Mom - she stayed home for 15 years to focus on raising the kids. Looks like its paying off. I know this is tough economically for many to pull off these days but I highly recommend it.

OSOK,

Congratulations to your sons. Eagle Scout is a lifelong achievement, once an Eagle always an Eagle. The lessons learned in scouts are one's that last the rest of your life. Being an Eagle is a small "club" and one that opens doors the rest of your life.

I became an Eagle Scout in 1966 and my son got his Eagle award in 1999. Still have my old Scout Handbook, and still look at it occasionally.

When ever people try to bad mouth today's kids, I'm comforted knowing young men like your sons exist. Congratulations to the boys, and to mom & dad.

Again, thank you for the kind words. One great thing about being a dad is that you get a chance to help your kids not make the mistakes that you did :)

I guess maybe there IS hope for the country after all. Sometimes you get the idea that all the young people are just stupid, irresponsible, hate-filled socialists. You can't achieve personal success with those values - even in today's society, I think an Eagle Scout still means something.
