94 AE date of manufacture

My son in law bought a otherwise excellent condition Winne 94 AE 30 WCF for $200.(previous owner drilled a hole in the forestock for a swivel

)I am curious of the manufacture date.The serial number is 6511xxx.The rifle has the tang safety.Thanks.

I don't know the DOM of that '94, but IIRC Winchester first changed from the crossbolt safety to the tang safety in 2003 on the '94.

Thanks for the answers.I guess 2004 would work just as well for a DOM.
