3:10 to Yuma

Post by gundownunder »

The new 3:10 to Yuma with Russell Crowe has started over there and is apparently doing well at the box office. We dont get it down here till about December, I think.
So who's seen it and is it any good?

Wanted to see it Friday night but the Boss Lady wanted to see something else so we compromised on another movie. "Death Sentence" w/ Kevin Bacon. Pretty good but a brutal move.

Might have to sneak off to the movies one afternoon this week :D

It's been raining here off and on. It's about 70miles to the nearest theater so I'm waiting for clear skies tomorrow or Thursday so I can go on the bike. Dad saw it last week and said it was really good.

Typical Hollywood action movie. Nothing too deep or smart, far fetched plot and action, lousy ending.

Well, me and the wife saw it Sunday. Unless it's a very good movie I don't usually come away remembering much afterwards.

On this one, I can still pretty much recall most of the scenes from start to finish, so to me it was an excellent very well made movie.

I just watched it about a month ago. It was alright, a little dry even for back then, but still a good flick.

From a pure cowboy and fun movie to watch.... I agree.
Just thought Van Heflin (spelling?) was very good in the part about a guy down on his luck having to do whatever it takes to get by then being the only one willing to do the right thing in the end...

I loved it!!! I told my darling Georgia peach, " It's Chuckwagon racing and a great day at the gun range rolled into one".

I liked it a lot. As far as I could tell, the weapons and gunhandling were accurate -- especially the sixgun reloads. There were some questionable handgun shots from galloping horses, but, hey, it's the movies.

I just got back from seeing it. I thought it was really good. Very well done and lots of great guns. The Colt 1851 and 1860 cartridge conversions being my personal favorites.

The wife and I just got back from seeing it. Disappointing to say the least. The technical aspects (photography, sets, props, scenary) were excellant. But they don't know how to tell a story!!! Doesn't evan begin to approach any of thee Tom Sellck, Robert Duvall, Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Clint Eastwood westerns.

It's a formula Western, i.e., a morality play. So, no, the story/plot is not great. But, the acting and weapon details seemed quite good to me.

The wife and I saw it tonight. We liked it. Personally, I go to the movies to be entertained. We were.
