The woman in the first pic is holding a Mdl 1892 rifle. Note the rounded bottom and squared off area just around the lever.
The Ute in the second picture is holding a Mdl 1894 Rifle.

J Miller's got it right: The woman is holding a Model 1892 Winchester carbine. And the gun appears to have a magazine hanger which would make it a .32-20 or .25-20 chambering.
