Obama Misses DAR’s Continental Congress

Not something that would make national Headlines, but did not miss a stunned audience, President Barack Obama became the
**first American president in 118 years** to abstain from the same long tradition of addressing the Daughters Of the American Revolution (DAR) Continental Congress, named after the governing body of the American Colonies during the American Revolution.

Just some of the events highlighted during Continental Congress that would make any American president proud include:
Founders Medals for Patriotism, Education, Heroism, and Youth
Americanism Award
Outstanding Veteran-Patient of the Year
Outstanding Youth Volunteer of the Year
Dr. Anita Newcomb McGee Award for the Army Nurse of the Year
Margaret Cochran Corbin Award for distinguished women in military service
Outstanding Teacher of American History
Outstanding Community Service Award

In addition, DAR members volunteer more than 60,000 hours annually to veteran patients, award over $150,000 in scholarships and financial aid each year to students, and support schools for the underprivileged with annual donations exceeding one million dollars.*

**Every single U.S. President since DAR’s inception in 1890** has made either a written or video address thanking the now 165,000 member, 3,000 international chapter organization for its contribution to preserving American heritage and its service to our country.

**Until this year, 2009, when our new President, Barack Obama, decided to ignore the invitation sent to provide an address that would give credit and thanks for the non-partisan, woman-only organization whose members must prove direct lineal descent from a patriot of the
American Revolution regardless of race, religion or ethnic background and
whose motto is:
God, Home and Country.*

During the designated time for the PResidential address by video to the expectant audience, many of whom voted for this president, grew to complete silence as it became clear there would be no address this
year.

The news from my mother Who was there, leaves me wondering what exactly does our new President value if none of the above was reason
enough to address the women responsible for such national achievements.

What statement does it make for America and her patriots to become the first President in American history to make no statement at all?

How should President Barack H. Obama’s silence settle with the country he leads?

What could have been so important in the President’s schedule that would make him miss, in my words Dis, Continental Congress?

President Obama was meeting with Russian
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Russian President Medvedev at the Kremlin and instead addressing the 2009 graduating class of the New
Economic School at Gostinny Dvor and later meeting world leaders at the G8 Summit.

Most modern leftist types, college kids, and news reporters (i.e. the idiots who elected Obama) regard the DAR as something as 'evil' as the John Birch Society, so no wonder it wasn't treated as newsworthy these days.

I have several thoughts on the matter, some, all or none may be valid.

1. This is what you get when you elect a POTUS who doesn't have deep cultural and historical roots to this country.

2. I would think the ladies of the DAR and others like them represent to Obama the white aristocracy who done his folks and all of the rest of the little and low dirty. Payback for 230 years of white rule.

3. The ladies of the DAR and others represent the past from which OBAMA seeks change.

4. When you don't give a hoot about the historical culture and values of this country, then you don't give a hoot for those who put them in place.

At any rate, his snub of the DAR represents his distain for anything American before he took office. The man is a greater danger to American freedom than the Taliban, Al Quida, Iran, North Korea and all of the rest put together. A history of great civilizations will reveal that no great civilization was defeated from outside, but decayed from the inside until it was just a shell which could be easily broken. This man is the thin edge of the wedge.

The article said a lot of the DAR voted for him. Dumb bells. Anyway, now they are seeing his true color. Since taking office he's p.o.'d a lot of his supporters.
So I say; good work Hussein, keep it up. The more you make folks mad, the less chance you get reelected.
