Well there was a guy that wrote a book about the time this Global Warming stuff got started. His book was called " Not by Fire But by Ice."

Lets not forget, the global warming whackos have already set themselves up for this. Most are not calling it global warming anymore, they are saying "Global Climate Change" caused by global warming. That way nthey can lie and it sounds good for them whatever happens.

Yeah the only problem with their sudo science on this one is that global warming is not even a factor in this line of theory. I wonder how Al and his chums will spin it when I am sitting in a foot of snow in here in SoCal.

It's called a Maunder Minimum - one of several cyclical solar events that can be tracked with far more precision than any non-cyclical "global warming" event.

I did a little "googling" on this. There's a lot that's already been said, and the historic data going way back supports forecasts of these cycles. Time to think about bad times scenarios from that particular perspective.

Even a well stocked root cellar won't get you through 20 years of significantly reduced global food supply. A well hidden/protected green house might help. Wildlife would get hunted out but fast, and most other things would get used up too. Alternate sources of heat would be smart, but if you can't get gas to run the chain saw, and your wood pile could be stolen, wood doesn't seem like a 20 year solution. A super insulated home with active and passive solar would help, as would low voltage appliances and enough rechargeable battery banks. Having that home a bit off the beaten path wouldn't hurt, either.
You'd have to have a watchdog, and food stockpiled for him, too. A breed that would be not so big that he'd blow out his own food supply too quickly, one that could take some cold, maybe a mate for him so after 10 years a pup or two could take over watch duty, and pups might also be a commodity. Maybe one of the medium sized terriers - an Irish?

Clothes, tools, building materials, reloading supplies, medicines, books of many kinds, wow this could go on for a while, but kind of fun to think about!
