Picked up my Rossi 92 today

Post by Borregos »

A great birthday present to myself :D
This levergun looks and feels excellent. The finish is good, wood to metal fit good, action feels nice but to cap it all THERE IS NO SAFETY GIZMO ON THE BOLT :D :D :D :D When I ordered the DVD from Steve at Steves Gunz he said he thought the Rossi's shipped to Canada were without the safety and thank goodness he was right.

Right now I can't post photos as my PC went belly up and I am using an old laptop for the moment but as soon as my daughter gets the PC sorted I will post some. I won't get to shoot it until the second week in November as I am off for a week searching for whitetail deer on Saturday :D :D

I have a .357 and a .45, plus my old 1892 32wcf. You will be carrying it all the time soon.

I love my .44 Magnum Rossi M92. I have learned though, that I will never again shoot soft lead magnum ammunition through it again. I have NEVER had to spend so much time cleaning a barrel as that day. Just remember that 1700 fps and soft lead DON'T mix!

Good morning
I bought a "Used" new in the box Rossi 92 (Interarms) 2 months ago in 45 Colt. That little rifle can be one powerhouse real fast. I settled on a 260 grain Lee flat nose plain base cast with 50/50 (ww-pure) with 9 grains Unique as my plinker load.
19 grains of 2400 with the same mold but cast of linetype is my serious cement block crusher.
If I get to pop a white tail with it (Illinois does no yet let me) I will sustitute my softer 50/50 mix as out to 50 yards as there will be no need for multiple river bottom shots where I hunt.
