RIP Tag
My wife's uncle died yesterday evening. It came as no surprise, he was 91 years old and had cancer. He was diagnosed here while back and made the decision to let it go. I can respect him for that. But, I respect him for some many other things also. He served as a medic in the United States Army through 3 wars, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He went ashore at Normandy at D-Day + 3. We used to set and tell each other stories about our time in the service while he sipped his JD . His stories much more interesting then my time as a Marine. But he was very humble, he once told me "Ah Rick, I wasn't even in the real army, I was just a medic". He had some great stories that he told me and many more that he probably never told anyone. After retiring from the army he got married and raised a family working as a custodian in the local school district where they lived. He outlived his youngest Daughter who was killed by a hit and run driver. His lost his wife of 47 years just last year to cancer, her second go round of it. There was nothing he loved so much as going to the nearby Lake and fishing for some catfish, except his family. RIP Uncle Tag.

You did him proud with what you wrote, thanks.

Rest in Peace, Sir. You more than paid your dues. My condolences to the family, but really if I live to see 91 I will consider my life full.

Wow.
"Just" a medic? B.S. Bunch of guys lived longer lives because of him and his efforts. I regret we still don't have guys like him still around.
He paid his dues and more. R.I.P.

Matthew 25:34-36
"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me'."
I believe Uncle Tag is in a very special place right now, sitting beside my Lord and Savior.

Sadly, "Political Correctness" is the most powerful religion in America, and it has ruined our society.

Re: RIP Tag
Sounds like he was a great guy. Medics are highly respected by combat soldiers, then and now. RIP Tag.
