Here are most of mine...
Which is your favorite? I have to say the 25-25 is mine. I used to have almost as many as you, my house burned and I lost most of it. Most of mine are all charred but it adds character.

Re: Pics of My Cartridge Collection
Wow, nice collections guys.
Re: Pics of My Cartridge Collection
OK guys, how do you dust them?
Re: Pics of My Cartridge Collection
Great collections. I don't have a cartridge collection. What I want is a gun for each caliber those cartridges represent. I'm working on it and I figure by the year 2080-2090 or so, I may have 'em all.

Re: Pics of My Cartridge Collection
Sorry to hear about the fire - that stinks. I think my favorite is my 7mm pinfire round. An unusual one. I am also partial to my .45-120 Sharps, but unlike the pinfire round, it is not a period original piece.Joel wrote:Ysabel Kid wrote:Cool! I love cartridge collecting!

Mine are in a cabinet, haven't been in there long enough to get dusty, plus I am always fiddling with them.
Re: Pics of My Cartridge Collection
I found an interesting one the other day as we were leaving the range. I found a piece of brass for a .50 Beowulf. Talk about a strange looking piece of brass... man? The head doesn't look to be as big around as the case wall. It looks like it should be some kind of Civil War era breach loading piece.

Re: Pics of My Cartridge Collection
In my case, I use a soft bristled paint brush. I lightly brush clean the shells, cases and printer's trays about once a year, tops. I use this same method to clean the train collection in the same room. It gets every little nook and cranny without leaving any residue or streaks or anything. I'm fortunate in that the train room in the log home we live in is pretty much dust free. If it weren't for the dogs, we probably wouldn't have to ever dust at all.Gun Smith wrote:OK guys, how do you dust them?

Re: Pics of My Cartridge Collection
The table is 8x10 with a 2x3 hole in the middle to access the center and back. Everything is Marx that I collect and run. I use original transformers so to lessen the draw and keep the trains smooth, I run all the 12 volt accessories off of a deep cycle marine battery. Things like lights, switches, bells and whistles, and yes we have "all the bells and whistles", can all be run off of 12dc quite well. Works perfect and the battery stays warm in the house if I need it for anything. After all, it is a charged, warm, portable battery if an emergency or fishing arises.

Great collections, both of cartridges and Gobbler's trains.
