OT: New Prayer Request -- Kathe

Post by Buck Elliott »

Kat can't seem to catch a break! She became very ill at work (hospital ER) Wed. night. They put her in a bed, where she continued to do her job as social worker/accounts clerk. with IV meds dripping into her. She showed up for work Thur. night, and they sent her home. Started treating her for possible acute pancreatitis. Wee hours of Friday, she checked herself into ER, in horrible pain. Emergency surgery at 9:00am. Then, she wouldn't wake up, so into ICU for a while...
Diagnosis is pancreatic cancer, spread to surrounding organs. Prognosis is unclear at the moment, but she is awake and lucid, mad as a wet hornet, and VERY VERY scared, which I am too...
Again, your prayers in her/our behalf are solicited, and greatly appreciated. It's good to be associated with such fine people, believe me...
Thanks in advance.
Regards

Buck

Really sorry to hear that, Buck. Kathe and you will be in my prayers.

A buddy of mine just went through acute pancreatitus. He told me after he got out of the hospital he'd rather die than go through that again because the pain was so bad. He barely remembers me and the wife visiting him for three days at the hospital. He was so looped from the morphine. He went a little sideways.

Tough decisions today --- Three weeks of intense chemo, starting tomorrow, then we'll see what happens... Kat's a fighter. She will not go quietly into that dark night. Not if she can help it.

Again. our deepest appreciation

Drs decided to start chemo on Saturday, then again yesterday and today, after which they will move her into an isolation unit, and continue daily with the chemo, giving her a break on Sundays. Her condition is rapidly deteriorating, but her faith and her will are strong. Now it is in God's hands, and I must be ready to learn and accept His will, whatever that may be...

Again. many, many thanks to all who have prayed and continue to pray for Kat, and for me... Your faith, Hope and Charity, along with my gratitude overwhelms me.

My own AMEN to all the prayers that have been offered.
Regards
