Ever get lost?

Post by cutter »

I have to post this, as it is a bit funny. I travel the South East U.S. for work, and my mo is to find a local phone book to look up gun shops. Well last week, I told the wife to," Get dressed, we're going pawn shopping!"

Well, I drove all over town and couldn't find the dern store.

Either I dreamed it, or I forgot what town it was in...

Sigh...

You're only lost when you run out of gas. If you still have gas you're taking the scenic route right

You can only be lost if you have someplace to be and a time to be there.

I always know where I am: with my truck. My truck has been lost a few times, but not me. 8)

I also do a lot of travel for my job. Can't tell you how many times I have woke up in the middle of the night in a hotel bed and for the first few seconds have no idea where I am. Takes a few seconds then you figure it all out.

Got smacked on the head once. A couple of days later while driving, I suddenly realized I had no idea where I was. I mean completely baffled. Heck, I could have killed a bus load of nuns and not known it. Took a bit to figure out where I was. Doc said concussion. Ain't never doing that again.

I was lost in the Downeast Maine woods once for a couple hours. A bear that I thought was dead knocked me over and broke my rifle. I ran far and fast, and got lost. When I finally found a road I followed it for a couple miles. I found a house with someone home, and they knew who I was staying with and drove me to him. I went about 10 miles, 5 in the wrong direction. This was while wearing knee-high rubber Wellies. Not fun, but it was an adventure.

Isn't getting a little bit lost part of the fun? I carry a GPS unit, too. It's just fun to kind of trail the game and move through the woods and not worry about where you are.

I "get lost" on the Harley. Some times it takes me days to find my way home.
