My BIL and his wife are expecting their first. She went into the hospital and they were going to have to induce labor.
Things have taken a sudden turn for the worse. Just heard that the baby is in distress and his heart rate is slowing and Lindsay is feeling poorly and has started to swell over her entire body. They are going to do a C-section, but the doctor is busy doing another one (why they don't call in another Dr. to do it I don't know) and won't get to it until he finishes the other one.
Prayers needed for them both.

It's a natural tendency to worry about loved ones at moments like this, and there's a lot of stuff that seems to need "urgent" attention that goes on in a maternity ward and during the birthing process.
All in all it's a pretty gruesome process. Blood, guts, screaming, knives, scales, people wearing masks, and men yelling "Breathe Honey, BREATHE!".
It's very exciting and a bit of an emotional roller coaster, but 99% of the time everything comes out OK.
Hope everything turns out OK for your family.

Prayers sent sir....10/19/83 my wife was in labor.....started having trouble breathing. Baby went into distress.....emergency C section.....my son was in ICU 5 days......prayers were answered....he is a strong health working man with a fine wife and the two most wonderful children on earth (being a grandpaw does that to ya)....he has never missed a beat....The Power of Prayer is Awesome....

Got a call late last night. Boy is 7lbs 14oz and very loud. Mom is still not doing great, but haven't heard anything so far so I guess no news is good news.
