Who makes a decent and affordably priced .44 WCF revolver?
In the price range of $400 to $600, if such a thing exists.

Uberti makes them and sells them under their name as well as others. Cimarron is one.

What he said...lots of Uberties out there. Also, if it's mostly to shoot and trail with and you don't care about fancy ffinish so much, closer to the $600 mark, look for a NOS (new old stock) US Firearms (USFA) Rodeo...the one with the matte finish. They have the same top-drawer innards as USFA's pricier (shinier) fare. I say NOS, as it's a discontinued caliber in the Rodeo. Good luck.

I own several generations of Colts, USFA and Cimerron. Best buy for the buck is a Cimerron IMO.

Ruger made their Vaquero in .44-40. They're available on Gunbroker pretty regularly (there's a new one on there right now).
Also, Pietta is making revolvers for Great Western, marketed under that name, and they're very nice (check out the Alchimista model).
Cheers,
Oly

Keep your eyes open at used gun racks and shows for a now-discontinued EMF Hartford. I'm on the lookout for one of those myself.
