Good Day All,
Will, picked up a new Rossi 92 last week and I am having problems with it.
I've had it at the range a few times trying differant loads in it (4 differant 38 spl and 2 differant 357 Mag).
At first every so often when chambering the 38 rnds, it would act like the carts were out of spec, and it was very difficult to close the lever.
Then it started to not want to unlock and eject, to the point of almost wanting to start in disassembling the rifle to get the rounds out.
I also discovered that when it does this, which is now every time it is loaded, then in lock up, the feed door would not open to add shells, as if ther was already a shell pushed back in front of it.
Other things I've noticed is that the top of the chamber is sharp and leaves two scratchs down the case.
There are nicks on the rim of the carts that seem to be stuck under the action when I do get it open. These are deep and make the cases unreloadable I would think.
The rifle is:
92 Rossi
20" round bbl
38/357
I had a Marlin that never had a hick up and that I did work on, so I was looking at working on this one also, but this just isn't good from the get go. Figured I check here before sending it off to Miami and letting Taurus work on it.
Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum!
Shoot Steve an email. He'll get you the answer you need. He is, by far, the best Rossi expert in the Republic. Better than the Taurus folks I would wager.

Better yet, just SEND Steve the gun (after getting his ok on it), and he'll fix it all up for you!

And don't get frustrated with having to tweak a modern repro of a 108 year old design. If you want to get an original 1892 in fine condition, you'll spend +$5K. What you have now plus a few bucks will be the slickest gun you ever held. Three cheers for John Moses Browning!

I was looking at maybe sending it to him before I discovered the problem.
No worries about getting frustrated with it. I've had new modern firarms not function correctly new.
