Just wanted to share the news that one of my grandsons, Sam Craig (who lives a quarter of a mile down the road from us) has just received an appointment to West Point, Cadet Class of 2012. He received the official notice yesterday. Needless to say, we are VERY proud of him. A straight A student with double letters in wrestling and cross country track, he is also a shooter (he has, among others, my duty GP-100) and a gentleman.
Please join me in wishing him well. Thanks.
That is great news. You would be hard pressed to find a better school. Many of this country's greatest leaders passed thru those hallowed halls. Please give him my well wishes and let him know this military retiree is proud of him.

Congrats to him. I went to the USNA and can tell you it was a fantastic experience. I wish him all the best. Tell him to remember not to be scared, its just head games.

Congratulations to the prospective cadet, and to the proud parents and grandparents!
Although I attended the University of Parris Island in '72 and Carnegie-Mellon U after that, I have a deep respect for graduates of the service academies.

Might as well face it, you're addicted to guns . . .
Congrats and best of luck to him. When I lived in New Jersey I visted the Acadamey quite often for football games and guided tours. The history and tradition just blows you away
Congrats to Sam. I was a cadet there once myself (class of '89), though I didn't graduate due to a medical discharge.
If he doesn't have a copy already, get him a copy of "Bugle Notes" and have him start learning the stuff in there.
HOO-AHH!! Graduating fom West Point is a credential for life. Congrats to your grandson.

That's absolutely wonderful news Mike! Please give him my congratulations! I'm sure the whole family was proud of him, even before this great news!-Vall
