Gun show lever score.
Found this:
Today my brother and I went to the small show in Crystal River, Florida. Our first time there. Walked the whole show. Tons of levers, almost every one a .30-30. Nothing wrong there, I was just looking for another Trapper in 45 Colt.
Almost got to the end and there it was! Did some trading, walked out with it. Brand new, never fired other than factory (did they?), as you can see still has the hang tag. The tag says 1 in 38 twist. I didn't realize they were that slow.
I'm pumped, let me tell y'all. This'll be my second 45 Trapper. My other one is getting Armorallyed right now.
I love these little rifles. They can do so much, are so light and handy and have excellent power. I don't really even load them to top levels, usually I use 20 grains of #2400 under a Keith 255 grainer. Out of my other one this runs 1570 fps, and with wheel weight leads I get zero leading. It has a very tight bore, just under .451 if I recall correctly. We'll see what this one measures out to be tomorrow.
Now I just need to find a lever action silhouette match somewhere around here!

Re: Gun show lever score.
Always cool to do that.
All too often I've got say $400 in my pocket, in case I find the gun I've been looking for so long, and could persuade the buyer to sell for less than the $600 they usually go for... Halfway through the show, I buy a $50 accessory I probably don't even need, and then as I wander around, I figure I'll never see that 'dream gun', and I may as well enjoy my spending money, so when I go by that 'last table' at the show, I've got $20 in my pocket, and see the Dream Gun in all its glory, for $375

Nice carbine. I had a pre-safety .44mag that was one of the most accurate carbines I've ever owned. Wish I still had it, alone with about 50 others I've stupidly let get away.

May your rifle always shoot straight, your mag never run dry, you always have one more round than you have adversaries, and your good mate always be there to watch your back.

Nice gun! Not one you come across every day.

Cat, what is Armorallyed ?? I didn't realize that winchester ever made the 45colt in 1-38". I've got a tang safety 45 colt trapper thats listed at 1-26" and that is about what it seems by my measurements. Regardless of the twists these 45colt trappers are awesome, its a gun I'll never sale. Congrats on your buy !!

That's why God invented ATMs and taught me how to use them
