lee taper crimp dies

Post by big bear »

I ordered some Lee Factory taper crimp dies today. I wanted one for 32WinSpecial. It's a custom job evidently, so so easy order (send us a dummy round, etc.) Can I use the 30-30 crimper I ordered and just adjust it some? Further do I really need to get specific factory crimp dies for 308,30'06,300WinMag. Wouldn't hey all be the same. The lady on the phone was quite unhelpful, so I did't pursue the issue with her.

I don't know about the .308, .30-'06 and .300 mag. But, I do know that you can use the 30/30 FCD on the .32 WS cartridge. Go slow and easy and it will work fine.

The factory crimps go by case length so no a 30/30 wont work on the 06 or 300 mag, might work on the 308 tho & I'v heard it works on 32special.
I dont know if a 30/30 taper crimp would work on a 32 tho.

Was it on this forum recently that someone posted how to use more common models of the LFCD to use for more obscure calibers. One method was about crimping the round upside down and another involved an "adapter" made from a commonly available bolt. I'm sorry I didn't save it. Now I wish I had.
