Post by kimwcook »

Came across this and thought I'd share with the guys looking for those Mare's Legs. Quite the one off.

OK, that's interesting. I wonder if you can slam fire it like the old Ithaca 37s?

That is a nice looking gun. That Lightning looks pretty good in that configuration.

Don't know how many were made, but AWA's had 'em on their website for a while now.

That's interesting, but I remember watching "Wanted; Dead or Alive" on prime time TV as a kid, so a Mare's Leg look alike is what appeals to me.

I also used to like to watch Paladin; Have Gun, Will Travel.

I don't much like the Mare's Laig configuration, but for some reason I like this little Lightning model.

I don't like the angle of that buttplate. I'd rather have it closer to a 90 degrees. I know it's not really a buttplate, but I might want to rest it against part of my body and wouldn't like that sharp point during recoil.

What an ugly waste of steel and wood. This mares leg fad needs to end.

They got some good prices for Starline .45 Colt brass though.

All the Colt .45 brass has "very long wait" on it...

Starline is playing some kind of game. Check out Cabela's for .45 Colt brass. Got 200 rounds of Remington from them just before Christmas and they delivered promptly. Price was a lot better than Starline who could not deliver at that time...

Joe,

There's a few of us here that think they're pretty neat.
I'm going to pick up one or two of the new Rossi's. Just because!
That's why there's chocolate and vanilla, Ford and Chevy and Winchester and Marlin.
Everyone likes something different and I hope they sell a ton of them because that
would mean even more new lever guns coming out in the future.

+1 It may not be the most practical firearm available, but it certainly isn't the least practical either. And it just exudes "cool"! 8)
