OT- Ammo Find

Post by pwl44m »

Stopped at a Yard Sale on the way Home from Church. Didn'see anything Gun related so I asked if They had any old Ammo or Gun related stuff They wanted to get rid of. He stopped for a second then asked His Wife "Hun wheres that ammo can". I'm thinkin Oh Goody. So He brings out a box of 45s abox of 30 Carbine and a couple boxes of 7.62x39. I said U got any more, so He goes back in the House an brings out some more of the same. This isn't a big turn on for Me as I have a ton of afore mentioned.I said Is this all U got ? "I'll buy all U have". So He makes one more trip and says that is all. All in All 8 1/2 boxes 45 acp, 3 boxes 30 Carbine, 2 1/2 boxes 7.62x39, 1box 410 # 6s. All Factory Ammo, No reloads.
I had sold these People a 5th wheel Travel Trailer a couple years ago. I had the 5th wheel hitch that I offered to sell Them at the time for 50 bucks but They didn't buy it then. When I asked Him "how much for the Ammo" ? He said I'll take the Hitch and 20 dollars. As someone said on here once " the Green couldn't clear Leather fast enough". Not bad for nearly 700 rounds of Ammo.
Oh I forgot the 50 rounds of whatever it is. Maybe someone can give Me a clue. The head stamp says FN 52. They r in 5 rnd stripper clips in a 5 pocket Bandolier.
Forgot to Mention, I also bought a Fly Rod and Reel for 5 bucks.

Looks like it could be a Moisin Nagant stripper clip, but the ammunition does not have the rimmed base.

I'll bet it just drives the anti-gunners NUTS that you can buy stuff like that at a garage sale...

Uh oh, a "garage sale" loophole...

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Those are the same stripper clips my Ishapore Enfield 7.62 uses. I wish I could find a buy like that once in a while.

I have some 7x57 with a FN 52 headstamp, Berdan primed, FMJ. I bought mine packed loose, no stripper clips or bandoleer.

I held one of the rounds up to an 06 case, the length looks the same. The fired case slips over the bullet real loose.the 06 case looks just a tad longer. I am pretty sure I dont have anything they will fit. Will probably try to sell them at the next gun Show. Someone will know what they are.
Someone mentioned they might be 06. what would FN make 06 for?
Still a mystery !
