Re: THE 4-GUN BATTERY
Sorry guys, no 4-gun battery for me. Go figure, I usually take some 5 or 6 rifles alone when I go hunting; and let's not discuss pistols. Let's just say, I like options.

Re: THE 4-GUN BATTERY
This is the type of question that I have fussed over for hours, but in truth I always seem to take the same guns when hunting or just having fun. I seem to get more old fashioned the older I get.
CF Rifle: Win 94 30/30
RF Rifle: Browning BL-22
Shotgun: Browning O/U 20ga. (I do have an old 20 ga. S/S I like a lot too)
Handgun: Ruger Blackhawk 45/45 convertible
Fortunately we don't have to make a choice of only four.

HANDGUN: Ruger 7.5 Blackhawk convertible .44 Mag/.44-40 'cause I said so.

Guys, I forgot to mention it, but I do have a .22 conversion for my 45, and they are a fine and fun little addition. I like mine so much, that I took one of those new Colt series 70 governments that Colt came back out with and pretty much dedicated it to my .22 cal top end.

Re: THE 4-GUN BATTERY
Of what I have now:
Winchester 1886 .50-110 (mighty tough call vs. 71 .348 WIN and/or Marlin 1895 .45-70, love all three)
Stevens Favorite .22 LR
Ruger Gold Label SxS 12 gauge
Vaquero (older large frame) .45 Colt
If I could substitute something I don't have in the safe:
maybe a 39A .22 LR
Then again I would gladly do without a rimfire altogether. Could I sneak in my 1894 .30-30 loaded with Remington Accelerator ammo?

Re: THE 4-GUN BATTERY
Mike, I use to say a fine shotgun, gun dog, bamboo flyrod and a longbow would be all I need. Lost the gun dog many years ago, have the other three. Would have to include a good carry weapon on to that list now adays.

Re: THE 4-GUN BATTERY
I live in Central Illinois so I don't need a hotrod centerfire rifle. I'll go with my Marlin 357 rifle. Henry Goldenboy 22. My Mossberg shotgun and my S-W 627 357 revolver. I already own them so I'm set. I sure hope I don't have to whittle down to just that though.
