Shotgun: '53 Win M12 Mod 28"
CF Handgun: '87 S&W 686-1 6"
RF Handgun: '91 S&W 617 Target 6"

RIM-FIRE RIFLE: Marlin .17 HMR Stainless
SHOTGUN: Remington 870 Super Mag
PISTOL: S&W 500

Plenty of ammo for each and grin on my face.

Sorry guys, no 4-gun battery for me. Go figure, I usually take some 5 or 6 rifles alone when I go hunting; and let's not discuss pistols. Let's just say, I like options.

This is the type of question that I have fussed over for hours, but in truth I always seem to take the same guns when hunting or just having fun. I seem to get more old fashioned the older I get.

CF Rifle: Win 94 30/30
RF Rifle: Browning BL-22
Shotgun: Browning O/U 20ga. (I do have an old 20 ga. S/S I like a lot too)
Handgun: Ruger Blackhawk 45/45 convertible

Fortunately we don't have to make a choice of only four.

CENTER-FIRE RIFLE: '94 Timber Carbine chambered for the .444 Marlin
RIM-FIRE RIFLE: '65(thats 1865) Spencer Carbine 56-52
SHOTGUN: Remington 870 Express, 12 Gauge, one of those unwritten laws that says every house should have one, kinda like everyone needs to own a '94 Winchester .30-30 once in a lifetime.
HANDGUN: Ruger 7.5 Blackhawk convertible .44 Mag/.44-40 'cause I said so.

Pick from some of the guns I currently have on hand:
CENTER-FIRE RIFLE: .44Mag Short Rifle Lever action
RIM-FIRE RIFLE: Henry H001 22lr
SHOTGUN: 12ga Coach gun (Only shotgun I own)
HANDGUN: Ruger .44Mag 4 5/8" Blackhawk

My wish list:
CENTER-FIRE RIFLE: M1A .308
RIM-FIRE RIFLE: Henry H001 22lr
SHOTGUN: 12ga Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 18" barreled
HANDGUN: Glock 19 or 21 (Had a G19 before and it was a nice carry gun, but the G21 would be an ammo match with my 1911)

Guys, I forgot to mention it, but I do have a .22 conversion for my 45, and they are a fine and fun little addition. I like mine so much, that I took one of those new Colt series 70 governments that Colt came back out with and pretty much dedicated it to my .22 cal top end. :D

Of what I have now:

Winchester 1886 .50-110 (mighty tough call vs. 71 .348 WIN and/or Marlin 1895 .45-70, love all three)
Stevens Favorite .22 LR
Ruger Gold Label SxS 12 gauge
Vaquero (older large frame) .45 Colt

If I could substitute something I don't have in the safe:

maybe a 39A .22 LR

Then again I would gladly do without a rimfire altogether. Could I sneak in my 1894 .30-30 loaded with Remington Accelerator ammo?

Mike, I use to say a fine shotgun, gun dog, bamboo flyrod and a longbow would be all I need. Lost the gun dog many years ago, have the other three. Would have to include a good carry weapon on to that list now adays.

I live in Central Illinois so I don't need a hotrod centerfire rifle. I'll go with my Marlin 357 rifle. Henry Goldenboy 22. My Mossberg shotgun and my S-W 627 357 revolver. I already own them so I'm set. I sure hope I don't have to whittle down to just that though.
