I'm not sure if this is attractive or not--But it most certainly IS.

Looks compact enough... 8) Looks like getting it into action could be improved upon tho.. But then again I haven’t seen the owner get it into action..

Not bad, not bad at all.

The only things I'd change are the pivot and lock bolt.
For the pivot I'd use a nice streamlined carriage bolt and small self locking nut.
For the lock bolt I'd use one of the spring loaded plungers like you find on Easy Ups to hold the legs extended.

Then I'd add a pad of some sort on the end.

I just might try to build one of these.

Hmmmmmm ...........

Would you be looking at legal problems if you put a similar folding stock addition on a Mare's Leg (12" bbl.)?

RVM45,
If you are a member of the sig forum could you contact 3/4Flap and see if he'd be willing to email me directly? I've got some questions for him and I really don't want to join that forum just for one thread. I'm a member of toooooo many forums all ready.

Yes, go to the link to the sig forum and read the whole 7 page thread.
3/4Flap covers that aspect several times.

Adding that stock to any firearm that has a BBL length of less than 16.25" would make a BATFE Taxed Short Barreled Rifle.

Better get a tax stamp first. I THINK that that's just an "any other weapon" Stamp and costs a lot less than the Class III/Full Auto stamp... but they still call out the proctologist.

Nope, SBR is different from AOW and is still a $200 stamp.

AOW covers foregrips on pistols, and I believe smoothbore pistols (not to be confused with Short Barreled Shotguns) but don't quote me on that part.

same price for the tax stamp and the barrel length is 16 inches not 16 1/4 i have many 16 inch rifles and they are legal the 1/4 inch is just the manufacturers safety margin. nothing to do with the law. federal law on barrel length is the same as here in tx rifle 16 inch barrel with overall length of 26 inches and shotgun 18 inch barrel length with overall length of 26 inches.

I dont think he shortened the barrel on that rifle. Just made the folding stock thus not needing a tax stamp.

I think its a good looking rifle and seems to be very functional for what he uses it for.

Thanks. I'm at a hotel and away from my reference materials so I wasn't certain. Ditto on the absolute bbl length.
