Call off the Search Teams - We are home!!
Made it back to Missouri this evening. Left Texas and 75 degrees .. came home to ice and snow - 20 degrees. The roads were clear and we made good time.
Fungus Sam and I attended the Leverguns Hog Hunt. Fungas Sam shot a pig the first night with his Browning Model 1895 in .30-06. I saw LOTS of game but no hogs.
The next day I shot a Sika Doe with my 480 Achilles sixgun.
First shot was 82 yards - through the lungs. She ran bleeding heavily but refusde to go down. I hit her again at about 50 yards and she ran some more. Finally shot her through the neck and dropped her.
All shots in and out with huge holes ... one tough little deer!
There was abundant game on 86r's place. I will post more pictures later.
We had to leave early on Sunday .. drove up to Snyder and hunted a day and half there ... got the call that ice was bad at home and headed home this AM ... 10 hours and we made it. Everything here is covered .. trees bowing .. power lines sagging. So far no power loss here at the ranch.
It was good meeting everyone ... had a great time .. good food .. good fellowship.
I will post more photos later.

Snowed till late afternoon here in west central Missouri. Hearing about the good time you had in Texas makes me want to go visit a cousin in San Antonio for a month or two.
Glad you had a good time.
Glad you had a good time.
Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that makes me tight in the throat . . . . Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. Republic is one of those words.

Yes, thanks. Glad to hear the good news and at 80 yards too. Amazing how tough some animals can be.

Mo got hit pretty hard this time, we usually get the messy stuff up here north of the river, but seems like more has been south.

Kinda purty, as long as you have a nice cup of coffee and nowhere to go until Spring!
