Magazine removal on a Browning 1886
I can see that it screws in....but is there a trick to getting it to unscrew? What do you turn it with? (that sucker is tight!)
Re: Magazine removal on a Browning 1886
Rifle or carbine?
Rifles aren't threaded, carbines are. You'll have to have all the band screws out, and the end cap out. You can use a punch that fits the holes in the tube closely (being careful not to get the punch in the hole in the barrel), or put the end cap back in, and the screw part way (so that it doesnt engage the hole in the barrel) and use the screw to help turn the tube, but you can damaged the screw and tube if you work it too hard.

I used a plastic/rubber wine cork on my EL. It's fine threads and wiggling the tube as it came out was the trick.
Kind regards,
