But it sure did put a smile on my face when I saw it. :D

casastahle,

Thanks for posting! This ad brings back many memories of deer hunting in my native Pennsylvania -- especially McKean, Forest and Potter Counties.

Surprised he had the wind to be puufing on a pipe after getting that buck on his back !

I do know a few fella's who try to do 90% of their activities with a ciggy dangling though, so i guess its the same principle

A new scrabble word "toggery". I hope I get a chance to use that one. Think anyone will challenge it? :D

He's using the rifle to put downward pressure on the hind legs.

I like the way he's done that carry. Backpack. I wonder if he put any binding where the front and rear legs cross.
Kind regards,
Tycer

Reminds me of the first Turkey I ever shot; carried him by the feet over my shoulder like I had seen in pics from turkey hunting magazines... No one ever told me that when you carry them that way they bleed ALL OVER the back of your pants!

I can just imagine the mess that deer would make of the Woolrich suit, hmm, I suspect he hasn't gutted him yet...

I grew up hunting with dad in wisconsin in the 40s and 50s. I dont ever recall seeing anyone carry a deer like that. We dragged them. Always carried a length of rope with us. Once met a couple of polish hunters. They were complaining that the deer they were pulling out horns were getting hooked in the brush. I said well pull it out by the hind legs. They told me they werent going that direction! We had all kinds of that woolrich coats and pants. Dont know what I did with all that stuff.
