Would you please show us your custom lever rifle, especially if itâ€™s done on Marlin 336. Looking for ideas what could be done on them. For the long time I am dreaming about Marlin 336SS in 7-30 Waters. I always wanted one with 20â€

A rusty 336 bought for $95, stripped down, refinished, and remodelled. Barrel, receiver, and mag tube were browned, all smaller parts were nitre blued. The forend was slimmed down, the buttstock replaced with an old-style pistol grip from Precision. Rear sight is a vintage all-steel Lyman peep, front sight is a Ted Cash silver blade.

Wow! Two opportunities to show this off in one day! It IS my birthday!
This is what srted out as a JCPenny 3040 .30-.30 in p/g configuration. Was GIVEN a straightened tang plate and bought a new (to me) stock in walnut that I finished the fitment on myself. I then added a WWG trigger happy kit, a DRC lever, a WWG rear GR sight and a Williams fiber-optic front sight. The finishing touch was the GTF Limbsaver pad. It's an awesome rifle that still says JCPenny on the barrel and does well on a steady diet of Honady Leverevolution ammo! Here she is!

Oh yeah, I paid $125 for this gun!

Not too custom, lever is custom and the Decelerator extends the length but I didn't have these done - I came upon it this way. A great rifle.

$100 1955 336 30/30 calibre.
Marlin rebarreled it, my smith reblued a bunch of things & got the rest cased & I retrofitted a set of factory Marlin 336 crescent buttplate stocks on it.
Night before last I got the swivel stud in the buttstock & only need to reblue the buttplate for it to be done.

Some of you have seen this one before, but it was done by an old friend who is no longer with us. It's a 1950 336ADL that he custom stocked in presentation grade wood. I'm partial to it for more than it's looks!

I wish you didn't post those pics of Pugslie. I love them and thank you for posting them, but I wish you didn't. I just refinished a 1957 336RC in .35 and now I'm eying up my hacksaw. Pugslie is gorgeous! Great job.

My Hi Grade Winchester 95 in 30-06 - I didn't pay anything for it 'cause my wife gave it to me for our 25th anniversary 3 years ago.

I '"customized" it with the Williams FP receiver sight

Well, OK - we know who really paid for it but it was what she wanted me to have.

All she got was a little ring (OK - diamond) and she's convinced she got the best of the deal. Women - gotta love'em.

I guess you could call this custom. Someone cut the magazine to 3/4 years ago to lighten it. They also put 55 notches in the stock. It came from a family living on the old Nueces Strip in South Texas. It was used to kill "bandits" in the early 1900s. This period of time in Texas was called "The Bandit Wars". There is still pending litigation going on over the killings. I use it now for hogs. It's a 1886 Winchester, 33 WCF with a Colt 45 SAA and scout belt holding both kinds of ammo.

I guess this is the most customized gun I I have but it wasn't done by me, the work was done many years ago. It started out as a 1938 long tang, model 71 winchester. The barrel was rebored and chambered for 450 Alaskan, The barrel was also shortened, full length magazine added, and converted to a straight grip. And the forend was slimmed down. And if you look close you can see that is has a very heavy duty barrelband, which was thought to be needed to hold up to the heavy recoil of the 450 Alaskan, back then.

You may have seen this before...it was a 336 100 year medalion gun in 30-30. I added a new barrel in .32 Win Special, and made it into a 336A configuration, cleaned polished and had it blued, and then custom wood with a Lyman Peep.

My Henry H001L:

The custom part is the trigger trip screw, ala The Rifleman:

My other custom is my Rossi EMF 92, .357 Magnum, that I got from Oregon45. He stripped the wood. Tycer & Yancey cut it up for me:

I have since ground up the bolt-top safety, and cold blued it, and the muzzle crown. I wanted to darken the wood, but I am growing accustomed to it. Fromw certain angles, it looks quite brown.

The most amazing thing is that the custom work only took 1 minute on each gun (if you look at the time/date stamp).

Yea, I cheated, took the "before" pic of an identical carbine to the one I customized. Have no idea where the actual "before" pics got to.
