Congratulations to you and your daughter. Darned these kids look good in their uniforms, but so very, very young. It always amazes me that with all the bad stuff we read about today's youth, we produce young men and women who will don a uniform and pledge their life, if need be, to protect this country. We must be doing something right.

TubbyTheTuba played in different Army Bands for 20 years...We, too, were trained in some combat positions, and did every military requirement asked of every soldier. Some don't understand that. For example, I had a Quick Reaction Force for when Reagan came thru EUSA/UNC Command in Seoul, Korea....Marines, as well, are riflemen first, and musicians last.

Blaine G, Thanks for your commentary.my daughter actually has 2 "bosses". Her band leader, and her Rifle company Sgt. She answers to both, depending on what their assignment is. She is truly a Marine Rifleman first, just ask her...

Cool beans!
(That's Maine talk for "wicked good", yet another Maine saying...)
Tell us more please...
What's her rank, what instrument does she play, etc. As an old "band geek" (and proud of it), I'd be interested in hearing what she does.
I spent 1 enjoyable afternoon & evening at the Camp a few years ago, as a guest of Gunny JReed and his wonderful family. Got a tour of the base and saw the ranges and some equipment he trained others to use -- but we didn't get to hear the band! (Or pull any triggers...)
You and your wife have every reason to be proud. Nice pix; thanks for sharing.

I have to admit, that I sorta have a soft spot for Camp Pendleton, and Marines in general. Since I claim these, its no wonder why.
The shorter, older one was Second MARDIV at Lejeune, the taller, younger was First MARDIV at Pendleton.
