Nuther 94

Post by pwl44m »

Picked up another 94 Carbine yesterday. Someone got carried away with the sandpaper and steel wool but it is not totally desacrated. Not much blue left, some light pitting here and there, action is tight and cycles rounds well. The screws are perfect, couldn't find one buggared screw. Wood is nigh unto perfect as well. all in all a nice Carbine. My 94 collection is growing. Ser # 1226xxx by BB puts it at 1943. Not much more to say. Couple pics for Ya

It looks nice to me. I don't see a thing wrong with it.

Give it a little time out in the woods and it'll look perfect. You're on a roll.

Hello,

Your Model 94 was actually manufactured during 1940 not 1943. At this point you may want to entertain the idea of having it reblued so that the metal won't turn pumpkin orange orange with rust. The bluing is gone so it will need to be protected.

Thanks twobit, I wondered about that. The Guy I bought it from said he thought it was 1940 also. Are polishing room #s new for BB this edition. First time I have seen them. Just got My new book yesterday. So what do We go by - last number or polishing room number. I'm confused (whats new).
