Good men I've yet to meet in person, but definitely glad to 'know' via this forum.

If you're not following Brother Jim and his mission and his words of wisdom on FaceBook, you are missing out on a good show. (it wouldn't hurt to spread a few bucks out his way, either)AJMD429 wrote:Good men I've yet to meet in person, but definitely glad to 'know' via this forum.

Re: Jim & Paco
I found this forum looking for Paco and his wisdom. Searched high and low for a copy of his Leverguns book. Finally found one too, paid $180 for it and it was well worth it. Too bad he's not hardly here.
Jim is a great guy. I've read every article posted on the front page, wonderful reading.
Which is which in the photo?

Re: Jim & Paco
Paco still has that gunfighter look here. Would appear he's still of the type someone would not want to trifle with.

If you look at their accomplishments, they are men to be proud of. I only know them from this forum, but I am very proud to have been able to learn from them.

Salute and my hat off to these guys and other old timers from this board that i knew nothing about.
A little history of these guys would be very helpful to us that didn`t know them and pay them the respect they deserve.
Thanks for your service to good men.

Pitchy, You probably know that Paco started this site, and he has several articles here and elsewhere - you have to look around the site from the "Links" section.Pitchy wrote:Salute and my hat off to these guys and other old timers from this board that i knew nothing about.

An interesting article on all of the early confederates of the informal "Shootists" fraternity can be found here:
http://www.shootists.com/letter.htm
Some Leverguns site members have their own blogs, like Hobie - and they frequently list their blog site at their "profile" - click on the "Profile" button by their latest posting to see it.
Also, gunblast.com, started up by the the Quinns (Bogie posts fairly frequently here), has some thumbnails of some of the "old-timers" here, if you go to the link that describes the contributors to that site.
You can find several articles by many of these folks just by Googling their names and the word "firearm," "handload," or "gun" or similar. Many here have online articles, several are published in hardcopy, and several are well known at ranges and in "the industry." Several others may not be published, but certainly know what they are talking about. KirkD for instance, has published some of the most stunning gun theme photos you might ever see; but you have to search his old posts to realize what a great photographer and old levergun historian he is. I pay attention to all of them, because any incorrect info or baloney posted at this site is pretty quickly corrected by the more knowledgeable members.
Bottom line is that there are way too many anecdotes and profiles connected to each of the Leverguns contributors to list the info here!
Re: Jim & Paco
I think they`er contributions should be known so people like me don`t stick their foot in their mouths unintentionally.
I am a beleaver that if one shows respect they deserve it back and visa versa.
Thanks for that info bro.

Re: Jim & Paco
Wow.. blast from the Past! Thanks for posting that photo. One of my best friends in this old world .. Paco is the real deal. He is living proof that it's the man, not the machine that gets the job done.
I absolutely love Africa .. BUT I do dearly miss my old friends. We rode the mountains of Arizona together in years past .. we burned a lot powder and sent a LOT of lead downrange. And best of all we shared campfires together.
I am hoping to return to the US for a month or so this next year and reconnect with old friends. I hope to have time to meet new friends also. If it happens I will let folks know when, where etc.

Re: Jim & Paco
I've had the pleasure of meeting Jim. I learned a bunch just listening to him talk to the other guys at the hunt.
Kind regards,
