The old forum's contents.

Post by Catshooter »

Where is it? Can it be brought to life for us'n?

chadbr brings up an excellent point, one I should have thought of long ago. Are the contents of the old forum, with lots of Paco, JimT (and yes, even that Murbach fella! :) ) sitting in a hard drive somewhere? chad has volenteered to resurect the data and though the good Lord knows I'm 'puter challenged I'd help if I could.

I used to read Paco's "Sixgunner" newspapers (don't know what else to call 'em) back in the early eighties. That's how I found this site by looking for his wisdom & experience.

Whadda ya say, anybody else interested?

Well, you could try googling the archives but I think it has pretty much gone away. Maybe Paul knows something that I don't. Try this or the leverguns articles...

I just tried to find it a couple days ago. No success, although I only spent about 5 or 10 minutes on the project.
Kirk: An old geezer who loves the smell of freshly turned earth, old cedar rail fences, wood smoke, a crackling fireplace on a snowy evening, pristine wilderness lakes, the scent of
cedars and a magnificent Whitetail buck framed in the semi-buckhorn sights of a 120-year old Winchester.

In www.archive.org a lot of old webpages are available. However, one must know the right web address for the pages to find it.

Thanks for the links...

There is a University that has program that will try to reconstruct a website from the archive.org content... It says it could take days to weeks. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
