The thing is, those adds may be old, but they are just as true today as they were then. If not more so.

Confirms the staying power of the fine .45 acp caliber 1911 Colt, I'd say.

Yep, no matter how far back we go in time, there's a certain percentage of the population who's brains are wired with criminal intent. As good 'ole Elmer Keith used to say, "Some people only understand the sixgun slug". So be it for the future also. ----------Sixgun

Cool pictures 8) Some things never change.

Concerning those Para's: Aren't the grips pretty wide for those with shorter fingers?

I've never held one of the Para's. My nephew had a polymer framed hi-cap Kimber 1911 with the grips molded in as part of the frame and it was a handfull. I have fairly large hands and long fingers so it isn't really a problem for me. The Kimber was a dissapointing shooter accuracy wise, so it was traded off. It functioned just fine but when you are used to accurate 1911s, plinker accuracy doesn't have much appeal.

I like the idea of a metal (steel or aluminum) frame and removeable grips.

Just for the record; I am not bashing Kimbers, my 12 year old Custom is far and away the most accurate of my four 1911s.
