Lost a good man yesterday.

Post by TedH »

My Uncle Paul passed away peacefully yesterday after some time of failing health. A Veteran of our Armed Services, and Police Officer for many years in St. Louis. Before his health problems became serious, he was an avid hunter and reloader. When he decided to give it up, he gave me thousands of primers, pounds and pounds of powder. He refused my offer of payment, but did offer me a Baby Browning for about half of what it was worth. I took him up on that offer. Now I am very glad to have that gun to remember him by. I never met a kinder, more giving man in my life. Everytime he would visit, he would hand out 5 dollar bills to all the children, be it grandkids, nieces and nephews, whatever, and there's a lot of them! As his last act of generousity, he donated his body to St. Louis University.

Rest in peace Uncle Paul, you will be remembered fondly.

I'm sorry for your loss. Maybe the Browning needs a good rub down about now.

It sounds like this world was a better place because he was here.

The planet was a much better place because of his life. I hope some feel that way about my memory.

The world would be bleak without guys (or women) like that.

Thankfully, the tendency to be one of the 'good ones' seems to pass along genetically, so there are always a few around.
