Little mule deer buck
Set up my trailcam just back of the house, got this little feller coming down the trail early in the morning. Yearling mule deer, nothing fancy, just though some of you might like to see it.

It's a Bushnell, cant remember the model, I'm in town and it's at our place up on the mountain. We have a lot of wind up there (What, wind in Wyoming? ) and over the space of a week or so I will get 500-600 pix of the wind blowing the trees around.JHarold wrote:Nice picture. I have - for me anyway - the world's best home lot. When I bought it in 1975, the north city limit was 2 blocks away - now, I'm told, the geographic center of town is less than 2 miles east of me - because of geography, city can only expand east and north. The good news is that the wooded 22 acres behind me can never be developed and supports wild life - deer, bears, foxes, coyotes - and others - and they feel my yard belongs to them. - Here are some bucks - ranging in size -
Fuzzy little new rack is hard to see in this pic
My two year old Boxer loves to play - here she is catching tennis balls -
But, she doesn't understand why those bucks won't play with her - when she runs out to play with them, they jump over the fence and book -

Thanks - I lucked out - the Realtor was a good friend. I was still practicing surgery and had a choice house on the golf course of the Country Club where I was a member but quickly found out what a terrible choice that was - no privacy and my fellow club members were surprisingly inconsiderate - sold the house and club membership (never learned to like golf anyway - though I tried for years) and moved out here - wanted the piracy but not more than 10 minutes from hospitals and this one turned out even better than I expected. Then open space behind me was great for my dirt bike - though age has made me give up motorcycles -but I can still shoot every week at the range. You can see my pine trees - have thirty some on 1/2 acre and a lot of room for my dog to run.JReed wrote:Nice peace of the world you have there OJ
Here's a couple more of my "neighbors" -
The girls -
Daily visitors-
This guy declined to play with dogs too
And, surprisingly - this one is friendly - but we keep dog separate from him but he is a beauty
We all share, also -
And relax-
Mostly retired military - I'm retired but not from military - despite service in the Army twice (WWII & West Point for a while), Navy - some as a Marine unit surgeon, and finally Air Force - so I can identify with all. When it's mentioned I served in all - about 9 years total - about half active duty - my wife explains I can't get along with anybody ) so I fought in all services before I became a career civilian in 1955 after Korean War -
Now that I'm retired, it's even better - and it's not a snooty neighborhood with an obnoxious HOA - we had a HOA when I bought in but, by mutual consent, we decided to keep it dormant avoiding the problems most HOAs seem to have - great mostly middle class good neighbors also - life is good.
