I built this today.
A few years ago I built an oak range box for my BP cartridge shooting. I built it with 1/2 oak and box joints. It's been bugging me having a plasic ammo containers. So with 1/4'' oak and 1/4'' box joints, I made this box.

That looks perfect!
Do you use a router for the box-joint cutting? If so, what kind of jig/guide do you use...?

I tried to make a jig and it didn't work. I fixed it with a jig saw. The joint turned out bad, but after glue and sanding it shaped up. I have a dovetail jig for 1/2'' and then I use a router, just not this time. For sure I'll get some kind'a jig for the next one. Now I've got to find 1/4 sawn for future projects. That's what the old boxes were made from.

Re: I built this today.
When I glued the box the box joints I drilled a small hole in from the top though several joints, then slipped a twisted small wire into the hole. It works like a screw but when it bottoms out it swells and locks in place. The bottom was glued and eight small brads into drilled holes.

Re: I built this today.
This might sound dumb, but drilling holes in wood that close together is tough. I don't have a drill press. That would help. I have to get me one. After a couple attempts, I used a sheet of aluminum. There is also a thin wood block on the bottom with holes.
It's 3 3/4'' high for 45-110 ammo.
