Not real cheap. The ranges I shoot at will not let you use the penetrator tip ammo as it tears up the backstop.

There is a lot of grumbling across the interwebs about CTD's anything but cheap pricing. I haven't ordered anything from them in ages. I guess time will tell if they actually loose business because of this.

I think it's about having something to sell so they don't have to close their doors.

I am not one of those grumpy old coots that think that any change is bad.
In fact, I am pretty liberal and readily accept that change IS the only constant.
But over a dollar per round for .223, what the ---- is going on?

I don't believe their pricing scam is recent. I've always found them to be sky high on anything. I don't even peruse their wares anymore.

I tried to buy 2, 5 round boxes of 12ga slugs from them recently. I didn't pay too much attention until I got to the checkout and my shipping estimate was $30 !!!!!!

So, I quickly escaped, and bought my shells from Ballistic Products instead (for cheaper and much cheaper shipping).

oh yeah, and one time, I tried to buy some shotgun shells from them, and went all the way through the checkout process, paid and everything, and then got an email a couple days later saying, sorry, they lied, they didn't really have those shells in stock.

I don't even look there any more.

You might want to try dividing that once again. $399.79 / 300 = $1.33 per round. Further, when you add shipping, say to the Denver area, it goes up by $15.55 to $1.38 per round. That's crazy and anything but 'Cheap'.
Not to mention you can find it in Denver for $0.80 per round on Armslist in bulk. Give it about 6 months, it will come back down.

Yeah,
Did inventory today ..............I'm good.
But moving 1000 rounds of factory 6.5x55MM in 20 round boxes is a chore.

One of my best friends grew up with one of the GM's of Cheaper Than Dirt, and also knows the owner. I've never been impressed with their prices. Even their "good buddy discounts" aren't much to speak of. The only thing I've ever bought from them is a case for my AR. After Sandy Hook, their $699 AR's instantly became $1500 AR's. I don't fault people for making money, but I can't afford to do business with them at those kind of prices. $90 for a Pmag? Craziness......

About 15 years ago, I bought some Buris Scopes that they were closing out, fixed 4x s to put on rifles for the gun show...I think I got them for $35 each + shipping...it was a great deal and I made money sellin ghtem later...but that was the last deal I saw from them...after that the good deals were "Sold Out"....I haven't even looked at their stuff in several years.

Gents,

I cannot say that I have been impressed with Cheaper Than Dirt, but, now, I am really dissattisfied with them, regarding ammunition prices. Case in point:

.22 LR Aguila Super Colibri LRN 20 Grain 500 Box 500 fps No Powder Super Quiet

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-066

About 5 days ago, they were around $35.99, per box. Then, 3 days ago, that went up to $59.95, per box. Yesterday, the price went to "Our Low Price: $69.59 "! I snoozed, I loosed! :o :(

People are jacking prices up everywhere. About 6 months ago you could get 556 ammo for about 35-40 cents around. Now its 2 to 3 times that. I saw a WASR AK forsale in a pawn shop yesterday for $1200.
