back from the sandbox.

Post by n2t »

Back from afghanistan. Had some fun..lets see, I got a fully functional asian sword, that's a blast..and if I can't get to a gun, the coroner is going to have a hell of a book deal when he's done...
I started casting for the 35rem and I currently am getting 1800fps with a 200grn flat nose hard cast bullet with GC and no leading.
Also just cast up about 100 of the 148grn button nose wadcutters for the GFs 38spl. Going to load them at plusP velocity with about 7grns of HS6, though I won't reach full velocity potential out of her LCR, I bet I can get over 800fps and with a big hard cast wadcutter, that should solve our CC needs. Also got a very nice hybrid snake to add to my collection and a juvenile male ground boa, very pretty animal with odd markings that is known to be hardy, and docile. GF has taken up horseback riding and may be purchasing her first horse. It's been a busy six months, and in may I'm taking the 300 savage bolt gun with 150grn hornady interlocs at 2700fps on a horseback riding guided black bear hunt...still got to see what the blackhawk will do with cast, but I have enough xtps loaded up I don't need to mess with that yet. Man it's good to be back, it was a lot closer some days than I wanted to admit, but it was worth it, whew. A few pics if it works, whew it's been busy!!!

Hey Will! Nice to hear from you. I was wondering about your long absence from the forum a couple of months ago.

I feel obligated to explain to you. . .

Sword + snake (should) = lots of little pieces.

you're doing something wrong. :D

Please don't.

There are plenty of Lawyered-up guns that could be cleaved. Leave the Pre-Safety stuff to the Marlin Guys.

If I find more pre safety guns at a good price, I think they'll be coming home with me. My 35 is 1976 and I'm always keeping my eyes open for an older 375win....but the threat had it's intended affect.
