Parting with a few rifles--what are they worth?

Post by Thunder50 »

Have two leverguns I am contemplating parting with and wondering if anyone can give me an idea on their value. First one is a 336cb in 38-55. Probably 85-90% condition.

Second is the jewel. Bought it secondhand, but guy was unsure if it had ever been fired or not. I suspect never been fired, still has the hang tag and box. It is a 1894 cb 20" octagonal barrel, in 32 mag.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

The 38-55 might be worth as much as $800 depending on condition..............

I've seen the 32H&R Magnums going for $1000 to the Cowboy action shooters. I'd post it on the SASS site and it will go in minutes!

Keep an eye on this one and you will get a good idea of the 32H&R value. They ARE in very high demand.

PICS ??

"Probably 85-90% condition" means absolutely nothing.

IF THE MARLIN COWBOY 336 38-55 IS OF THE FIRST ISSUED GUNS IN THAT SERIES AND IS DRILLED AND TAPPED FOR RECEIVER SIGHTS, AND HAS THE BADGER BARREL, IT IS WORTH A HECKAVA LOT MORE THAN THE LATER GUNS, TWICE AS MUCH LAST TIME I LOOKED.

I think there is some irrational demand, for the 1894 32H&R.

Looks like two bidders got caught up in the frenzy, but one wanted it VERY badly.
