Dang, wish I would've known. Been tramping around your area all this week, was a hundred miles north of the cities until noon, then got a call that my Dad was 911nd to the hospital and had to high tail it home. Just pulled into the drive about a half hour ago.

My wife and I had a wonderful time with Pitchy and his wife today. We arrived just before lunch and were treated to some of Mrs. Pitchy's excellent chill followed by strawberry shortcake. We then spent several hours visiting. I tried out some of Pitchy's rifles and sat by the pond watching the Edmund Fitzgerald steam ship make its circuits around the pond. It was a beautiful day, and watching that steam ship chuffing around the pond was very relaxing, kind of like sitting around a campfire. I could have sat there and watched for at least an hour. If you folks think you've seen all Pitchy's projects, you are badly mistaken. I was amazed at the stuff he has built.

Our time with Pitchy and his wife went way too fast and I was sorry to leave. They are wonderful folks and it was a highlight to spend time with them.

Sixgun, it took us just shy of 18 hours of hard driving to get from our house to Pitchy's.

By late summer it's like a jungle. Thick with brambles, poison oak and ivy, and burning nettles too! Were it not for winter, everything in Minny would disappear into a mass of green never to be seen again.

Old Savage: Heh, heh! Our two women folk were having a good time visiting. We didn't want to disturb them with no picture-taking. :D

Sixgun: What with detours, gas and fast food stops, and small towns and two-lane roads, I think we were only able to average 50 miles per hour. I think it is only about 900 miles from our place to Pitchy's. I've been driving now for three days (1,736 miles), only one day left to go until we get to Sherwood Park, Alberta for a wedding and a big family reunion. Then I got to boot it back.

That's really great that you guys got to visit like that. That is what makes this forum like no other.
Hey Kirk, I wonder if you passed my son? He drove home from Kodiak Ak. that same time and drove across Ontario to Thunder Bay. Said the Yukon was the prettiest place he's ever seen.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

It's possible. We could have crossed paths in Manitoba.
